This is the most popular configuration for industrial castors on trolleys and trucks. It uses two fixed castors in the back and two swivel castors in the front. This configuration turns easily and tracks very well when towed. The trolley cannot freely move in any direction, to make a 90° turn the trolley must be pulled around on a pivot of the rigid castors.
This castor configuration consists of four swivel castors at the corners of the cart. The benefit is the cart can be moved in any direction without the need for turning around. The drawback is the trolley can be hard to control when moving in a straight line. An easy fix to this is to equip the industrial castors with swivel locks. Then when the trolley needs to be moved or towed in a straight line, the rear castors can be locked.
This style uses four rigid castors set in a diamond pattern and is used on tilt-type trolley configurations. This is the lowest cost configuration for trolleys and trucks. It can pivot on the centre wheels to turn or do complete 360° rotations. The drawback is it cannot carry heavy loads, because only three castors are in contact with the floor at one time (tilt type trolley) and it cannot be pushed sideways,if not uniformly loaded it can be unstable.
This configuration is similar to the 4-wheel diamond castor patterns discussed above, but can carry heavier loads and is better suited for long trolleys. This castor pattern allows the trolley to turn in its own length, as all 6 castors are in contact with the floor this trolley is ideal where heavy loads are applied

The trolley is extremely easy to control and manoeuvre just keep in mind that only 4 castors are in contact with the floor at any time therefore make sure the capacity of 4 castors is suffice for the load.
Because of the tilting action of this configuration the trolley can easily travel over ramps or boards which may present themselves.
